Changing up the Frosted Card Workshop

I love the Workshops on the Go Frosted Cardmaking Kit; from the stamp set to the addition of the tinsel baker's twine.  It's a beautiful kit and a steal at $24.95 for 15 cards/envelopes and a D-size stamp set.

How could it get any better?

By changing up the cardstock and ink colors!

By using Slate Grey and Blush in place of Olive and Ruby I was able to create these feminine and pretty versions.

Then, I followed the example of fellow consultant, Vicki Wizniuk, and changed it up again with Lagoon, Slate Grey, and Whisper.  Love how they create a feeling of winter snow.

In all, I made 65 cards using the Frosted Cardmaking Kit, Colonial White Value Pack (50 cards and envelopes), Baker's twine, clear sparkles and a few extra sheets of cardstock all for around $60! (not including ink pads)

If you would like to purchase items to create 65 of these cards for around $60, shop on my website or contact me (kelly.m.maatman@gmail.com or 616-406-8312).

Give a Card of Thanksgiving

I LOVE November. I've personally made it a month to catch up on all the thank you notes I always planned on sending...or creating...or found in the car months later waiting on an updated address or stamp.  And don't get me started on where I stashed the stamps (I now have them in my craft room, kitchen, and car). Since I affixed November with this "Thanksgiving Thank you note Catch Up" title, I now feel I have the power to absolve YOU of your guilt too. So, go create a card of thanksgiving and mail that baby out.  Don't try to do twenty, I'm just asking for one, cause we all know what happens when we try to cram create: Chaos:)

And when your done, come back here and leave a comment with whom you send it to and why. You'll be entered to win fun FREE stuff. If you add a link to your card, I'll throw your name in a second time.

Love November a little more now? Good:)

Give Thanks

Take a moment and give thanks today. Give thanks for a neighbor that's there when you need a cup of sugar. Give thanks to a parent that listens when you need to talk. Give thanks to a friend for all the little things they do. Give thanks to your children for those times YOU need more patience. Give thanks today. And then go and give thanks again tomorrow:)

Huntington Sympathy Cards

Sometimes in our lives we give thanks for more than just acts of kindness.  We give thanks for being a part of someone's life and the blessing of having them in ours.  These are for such a time.

Wild 1st Birthday Bash Invites

My daughter's first birthday is coming up this month and I'd thought I'd share a little something of what I'm working on. Daddy wants a Safari themed birthday, and so I pulled out some old Cricut Cartridges and papers I had. After looking over things on Pinterest, this is what I came up with.  All stamps are Close to my Heart. Enjoy.

If you would like help with invites for birthdays, parties, reunions, weddings, or get togethers just contact me.  I do just design work as well as assembly and mailing.

Back to School-Ruler Wreath

In Creation Club, back in September, I wanted to create a wreath that was school themed, and could be updated year after year.  After looking over Pinterest, I came up with this version of the Ruler Wreath.  Why do I love it? Because it combines both versions I found on Pinterest (Ruler Wreath + Crayon Wreath), and the clipboard creates an option to update my son's photo every year.  And that black school bus? Why yes, that is chalkboard paint, so I can change the grade or year to match his picture.

If your interested in creating this, or other great home decor and altered projects come join us in Creation Club.  For more information just contact me (616-406-8312 or email).

April Stamp of the Month: My Sunshine

Just a little something to brighten this snowy, rainy, cloudy and all together dreary day.

I LOVE the April stamp of the month, My Sunshine.  It coordinates with the Cricut Artiste and I have so many ideas going through my head on how I want to use it. Sun bursts and balloons are used a lot right now, probably because everyone wants a little summer during this cool spring.

If you'd like a little sunshine yourself, grab it up during the month of April for $5 with a $50 order. Check it out on my website and see more inspiration from the gals over at CTMH.

Sail Away with Tommy

So, I'm having trouble today with my google+.  It seems that when you update your Flash player, all hell breaks loose. So, please excuse my terrible pictures today.

Anyways...Onto the fun stuff!

I love the Tommy papers in the new Close to my Heart Idea Book. Living on a a lake provides ample opportunity for water sports of all types, especially sailing.  This little butterfly was given to Mark by his parents.  So, on the days that are windy, and waterskiing is impossible, my husband releases his stress by sailing away...

for a little while anyways:)

The Mini-Medley Accents Wooden Collection add such a great feeling of texture to this layout.  I love how the swirls look like waves on a windy day.

Scrapbook Classes Coming Soon to Scrapbook Garden

I was asked by a local scrapbooking store, Saranac Paper Garden, to teach a scrapbooking class.  Since I love creating scrapbook pages, and I love teaching too, I jumped at the chance and whipped these pages up!

These papers are from the retired line, Sonoma, by Close to my Heart. The charms and My Stickease are coordinating accessories that were also available with the kit.

It's sure to be a fun time learning new techniques, getting some pages done, and meeting others whom love to papercraft as much as I do!

Layout #2

If you'd like to create these pages or find out more about the monthly Layout Class, contact me (kelly.m.maatman@gmail.com, 616-406-8312) or contact the Scrapbook Garden for any questions.

These classes will be held monthly on the third Thursday with two time slots 1:30pm and 6pm.  Space is limited and so is kit availability, so sign up soon because it's filling fast!
